small progress

This weekend was good on several fronts.
Since buying our home seven years ago, we've been trying to decorate on a shoestring budget. Last summer, dear
enemyfrigate helped me paint my bedroom. (It was the first time I'd ever painted a room of my own. It remains the only room in the house that isn't painted white.) I've been collecting odd pieces of furniture to make it look more homey. The one thing that was missing was a headboard for my bed...the pillows fell off the bed in the night.
On Saturday, I found it at a local shop.
It even fit into my compact car for the trip home. :D

This week, the cats have shown more signs of finally getting along:
play-fighting, brief grooming sessions, and snuggling together.
This morning, I woke up to find two purring cats on my bed.

Yesterday was gloomy, so
stormsongk and I went for a drive in the rain. We found some signs of spring. One garden's crape myrtle bark had the most gorgeous colours.

And I found another heart on the beach...this time on a waterworn oyster shell.
