forest_choir | Late-Night Encounter

Our in our neck of the woods we get all sorts of wild critters: herons, owls, hawks, eagles, wild turkeys, deer, raccoons, opossums, foxes, frogs... They all visit us.

Late last night I drove home across the marshes in the middle of a wonderful (and much needed) thunderstorm. On a turning in the road I braked when something crossed the path of the headlights.
As I slowed, two river otters slinked across the road like a pair of eels.

I love my home.
